YourWorkplace.Biz is a website that allows video game employees to rate their employer while remaining anonymous.Working emails are used for accreditation (the best way to get trustworthy ratings so far). Anonymity is preserved by not linking voters with results in the database.
Finally voters are limited to 1 vote per year. Readers can follow how a company is doing through time.
Like hundreds of video games employees have done and keep doing, tell the world how it is to work in your company. Just find your company/office in the list of companies and invite yourself.
Thanks for your participation!

| In certain aspects, you are treated extremely well here. Upper management is concerned about avoiding crunch and has been making an effort to prevent it. Benefits and salary feels extremely generous- you will not go hungry working here! (literally, there is a constant stream of snacks in the break room at all times) Different departments are easy to communicate with and there are a number of people who have had years of experience in the industry and are very willing to pass their knowledge onto you. The people are very outgoing so expect to see a lot of friendly waves and ''hellos''. Madison is a wonderful area to settle down and start a family, as a good amount of people at Raven have already done. The studio is very family friendly itself with events like the company picnic and trick or treating at the cubes in the studio for the employee''s children. | Recent changes in management has created more separation among titles. If you aren''t a senior or lead, every single thing you do must go through them first. This includes any conversations you have pertaining to what you are working on or if someone in management comes to you about anything work related. Flexibility in positions is highly discouraged. You are given one area to specialize in for your department and although you are encouraged to learn new things, but don''t expect to be given any opportunity to use what you learned during development. You are expected to work overtime without being asked if you are approaching deadlines, regardless of the actual workload. Recognition is given through attitude and show more than actual performance. Lastly, expect to be a ''yes'' man. As Raven no longer works on their own games the mantra is, when the other studio tells you to "jump", you ask "how high?" |

Thanks for creating such a useful resource Someone @ Funcom
This survey is a great idea by the way to show what people that work at the various studios think about their work conditions, value and respect to their company. Someone @ EA
I just wanted to say I really like the idea of rating companies as good places to work. Companies that are good should attract the best people. Companies that are bad should shape up or go out of business. Anonymous
Good luck with your site. Seems well thought out and needed... Someone @ Rockstar
